Red Vein Sorrel

from $5.00
Sold Out

Bright-green leaves with contrasting dark maroon stems and veins.

Uses: While Harvest Acre selected this to grow for December as a garnish for desserts, this microgreen with its tangy citrusy flavor goes well with fish. It also goes well as a topper to sushi, with eggs, salads, and even in soup. Or use it as an add to vodka cocktails. It adds some nice color to dishes and brings a citrusy flavor.

Benefits: The Red Vein Sorrel is packed with vitamins B, C and is high in minerals. Throughout history, it has been used not only for culinary purposes but also as medicinal. Some of those uses are as antiseptic and astringent properties that can heal cuts, burns, rashes, wounds, hemorrhoids, insect bites, and boils according to OSU. Native Americans used it as an antidote for poison.

One of our few microgreens that we actually let grow a little longer for the red vein to appear.
